ORV (Off-Road Vehicles) Issues

The illegal and irresponsible use of Off-Road Vehicles (ORVs) is a major conservation concern for the San Gorgonio Chapter. Our concerns range from the damage done to wild habitat, the direct killing of critters, and lose of peace and quite for all of humans. ORVs are regularly used off designated routes or trails. When this happens the soil is compacted and vegetation is damaged. This off route travel (often illegal) in turn damages the resources needed by the native critters to survive. Illegal ORV activity often starts in local communities that are adjacent to open public or private property. Riders will use local roads (often illegally) to traverse to open property public or private to ride illegally. Our goal is to take back our wildlands and our peace and quiet from this growing menace. For more information please contact Kim Floyd 760-680-9479 or kimffloyd@verizon.net
